Two great teams of Africa will battle for a place in the Africa cup of Nations final, when Nigeria takes on Algeria on sunday in cairo Egypt.
Nigeria will try to give it all at this semi final to make it to the finals, and see if they will be able to top up their glory of winning another African cup of Nations which will make it their 4th Nations cup glory.
On the other hand Algeria who have had some difficult set backs in previous Nations cup, during which they were knocked out in the group stage of the 2017 tournament, will try their possible best to make this one a very successful one by beating Nigeria and advancing to the final of the competition.
So far, so good the super eagles have played very well from their group stages matches till this semi finals. They have won all their matches except for the group stage match against Madagascar, by which they were defeated 2- 0, due to the resting of star players, because they have already progress to the knockout stage.
They have fought very hard to defeat the strong Cameroon side in the round of 16, were they played a very good game,to come from behind to win cameroon in what is described as a massive comeback. They have also send the strong South African strong team packing in the quarter final which ended 2-0, who will see defeated the host (Egypt). The super eagles of Nigeria will hope to continue with their winning streak when the face a stubborn Algeria side on sunday.

Algeria were not among the hot favourites to succeed in this competition, after what have been a turbulent couple of years for the desert foxes. The North African side failed to win a single game in the 2017 African cup of Nation finishing third in their group and packing their bags home, and they also failed to qualify for the 2018 Fifa world cup.
However the appointment of former midfielder Djamel Belmadi in November 2018 has completely changed the Algeria's side for the better, with the new manager still unbeaten after 11 games at the helm.
Their form at this tournament have been impressive. So far, so good the desert foxes have played very well from their group stages game till this semi final. They have won all their matches except in the quarter final round were the settled for penalty after a 1-1 draw against stubborn ivory-coast side. They have defeated guinea in the round 16 stage with style, by beating them 3-0, with the likes of R.Mahrez, Y.Belaili, A.Ounas on the score sheet. They also would have continued their winning streak against ivory-coast in the quarter final match, not until the ivory-coast man Jonathan Kodja, the aston villa forward spoilt their show by equalizing in the late hours of the game, making it 1-1, and taking the game to penalty shoot out, which ended 4-3, in the favour of the Algeria's side. They will hope to continue their impressive form, when they face a very difficult side, the super eagles of Nigeria on sunday.

Nigeria: Nigeria captain John obi mikel is expected to make a return to the side starting X1, after missing 2 games due to an injury sustained against Madagascar.
Shehu Abdullaihi, the Nigerian defender is also expected to make a return to fitness as well. Having a suffered a hamstring injury during a group game against Burundi.
Algeria: Algeria's will be delighted not to have any major injury concern for the semi final match. They will only not play with one of their starting player Geudioura, who was suspended due to booking he received.
