Odion Ighalo retires from Super Eagles

ODION IGHALO RETIRES FROM SUPER EAGLES.

    Nigerian forward Odion Ighalo, has announced his retirement following the Super Eagles third place victory over Tunisia on night at Egypt 2019.
    Odion Jude Ighalo (born 16 June 1989) is a Nigerian professional footballer who plays as a striker for chinese club Shangai Greenland Shenhua and the Nigerian National team.
After Starting his career at prime and julius berger, he moved to Norway's Lyn in 2007. A year later he was signed by Udinese, spending most of his tenure loaned out, notably at Granada, before signing for Watford in 2014. He also completed professionally in China, with Changchun Yatai and Shanhai Greenland Shenhua.
Ighalo made his debut for Nigeria in 2015. He represented the nation at the 2018 world cup and the 2019 Africa cup of Nations.

Odion Ighalo, who is believed to take the highest Goal Scorer Award home, leading the cup of Nations goal chart with 5 goal, made his decision clear to Gernot Rohr( Nigerian Coach) before leaving to join his Club in China immediately after the Game.
"He had discussed his decision with the coach before the third- place match, saying that the constant abuse was taking a toll on his young family, but he was advice to keep it under wraps for the moment. after the game he gave his jersey as a Souvenir to the Coach, said his goodbyes and left.
      A source stated
Prior to the game, the 30 year old posted a message on his Whatsaap status update that simply said "Final Game".
"He has been very strong for us," Rohr said,"And it is said that he wants not to continue". But the door is always open for him any time".
    He made 35 appearance for Nigeria, Scorong 16 goals. He was also the top Goal Scorer of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers with 4 goals. And could also take the Award of the top Goal Scorer in the tournament(Africa Cup of Nations) after Scoring 5 in Egypt.
